Updated for 2025: I charge between $0.07/word and $0.09/word for developmental and line editing, and $0.06/word and $0.08/word for copy editing, depending on the complexity of the editing. The exact rate is determined by how much work the manuscript needs. I offer payment by monthly installments and a discount for writers who are not on the tenure track and/or who do not have access to institutional funds.

All book-length developmental editing projects include a 1-hour chat (by phone or Zoom) after I’ve completed my work. During this call, we can discuss my feedback, your revision plans, and anything else about writing or publishing that interests you. Followup consultations can be added to shorter projects for $95/hour. Shorter projects or addendums to projects may be billed at this hourly rate.
